Innovation Executive, Enterprise plc, Preston, England.

Manager for the Blackpool Technology Management Centre.  The project delivered a series of business innovation programmes to Small and Medium sized Enterprise's (SME's) in the North West.   Also the Lancashire Telematics Team delivering four corporate and community projects to promote the use and application of Internet applications and other ICT's in the region. 

Seminar presentation Executive responsibility: The Lancashire Telematics Application Programme provided resources to the region in the development of a number of cross-sectoral networks (people and electronic) and by the delivery of technical and computer resources helping to provide a smooth structured transition for the Lancashire community into the Information Society. (Skills: Project Manager. NT Networks, HTML, JavaScript, Photoshop, VBScript. Timescale: 1997-1999. Financial Value: £430,000. Technology used.  NT Server (UKIP Ltd).

Executive responsibility:  The Competitiveness Through Telematics in Lancashire Programme assisting small and medium size companies to become more competitive through increased use of electronic commerce.   Clients are helped to identify, and deal with, new clients and helped to access new markets and business opportunities using ITC's. (Skills: Project Manager. UNIX and NT Networks, HTML, JavaScript, Pearl, CGI programming, Photoshop, VBScript. Timescale: 1997-2000. Financial Value: £600,000. Technology used.  UNIX Server (Cobalt), NT Server (UKIP Ltd) Actinic e-commerce software).

Executive responsibility:  The AGORA Business Service provided a range of  teleservices via a network linked throughout the European Union.   The services to SME's (in Lancashire) were delivered via a number of One-stop-shops in three Business Telematics Centers.  (Skills: Project Manager. UNIX and NT Networks, HTML, JavaScript, Pearl, CGI programming, Photoshop, VBScript. Timescale: 1997-2000. Financial Value: £600,000. Project management:  The Blackburn Multimedia Unit was responsible for the development of a range of Innovation and Technology Management awareness, training and analysis products supplied on CD and via the World Wide Web for the business community. Partners included IBM, ICL and British Telecom.  (Skills: Project Management. Silicon Graphics Onyx workstations, PowerMac’s, NT PC’s UNIX and NT Networks, HTML, JavaScript, Pearl, CGI programming, Photoshop, Macromedia Director, VBScript. Timescale: 1997-1999. Training Development, Management   Responsible for the design, preparation and delivery of awareness and training events and programmes to suit client objectives in both the private and public sector. I was also the Managing Director of Rainbow Software; a multimedia development company that produced a range of presentation products and a number of commercial computer-based training packages. In 1982 I was the youngest Branch Manager of Magnet & Southerns, the largest retail joinery company in Europe (250 branches).

Executive responsibility: The Regional Innovation Awareness Programme has been developed to assist companies in the innovation process.  Seminar programmes are developed in which local industry issues and resources are identified and promoted. Delegates attending such seminars are provided with Innovation Best Practice and Case Study material and also introduced to organizations capable of providing expert practical assistance locally.
