Creamed Kale & Spinnach

A healthy, green, leafy addition to most meat dishes.  It is very satisfying and easy to make! You can also add mushrooms or onions too.

Equipment

  • 1 Large frying pan

Ingredients

  • 1 bag kale
  • 1 bag spinach
  • 1 tub soft cheese garlic and herb
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 2 cloves garlic optional
  • tbsp grated parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

Prep (approx. 10 mins)

  • Wash & de-stalk the Kale
  • Wash Spinach
  • Grate/press 2 cloves of garlic (optional as the soft cheese has garlic in it)
  • Place a large knob of butter in the pan and melt

Cooking (approx. 15 mins - making the kale and spinach wilt)

  • Sauté the garlic until fragrant (optional as the soft cheese has garlic in it)
  • Add the kale and cook until wilted (stir to make sure that kale is covered in butter or it may burn before it wilts) - Don't be afraid to add more butter if it becomes difficult.
  • Add spinach and also ensure it is coated with butter to stop it burning before it is wilted - Don't be afraid to add more butter.
  • Add salt and pepper
  • Add two tablespoons of cream and stir
  • Add two tablespoons of soft cheese and ensure it is properly mixed in with the kale and spinach. Add more to taste if required.
  • Grate a little parmesan cheese over to taste
  • Serve immediately - or within 10 minutes or so.
