Tuti Fruity Icecream for an Icecream maker

This is a relatively simple recipe but the ingredients are really important. It isn’t quite the same without each as they are critical for the right taste.

Equipment

  • 1 Icecream maker
  • 1 Electric whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 Banana (ripe) Mashed
  • 200 ml Double cream
  • 100 ml Oatmilk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp Banana essence
  • 1 tsp Orange essence
  • 1 tsp Vodka
  • 3 tbsp Sweetner
  • 2 tbsp Crushed nuts (wallnuts, hazelnuts, cashews)
  • 1 tbsp Flaked, smoked almonds
  • 3 tbsp Glazed cherries halved
  • 2 tbsp Glazed orange & lemon peel
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  • Whisk the egg with an electric whisk for a minimum of 2 minutes until pale and fluffy
  • Mix in the essences, vodka, mashed banana, sweetner, cream and oatmilk
  • Chill for 2 hours (or overnight)
  • Churn in the icecream maker for 35 minutes or untill semi-solid
  • 5 minutes from the end, check consistancy and if semi-formed (thick but still stirable) add the dry ingredients (nuts, glazed cherries, glazed orange & lemon peel)
  • Scrape into a container using a wooden or rubber spatula and freeze for a minimum of 3 hours
  • Take out of the freezer a couple of minutes before you intend to serve (homemade icecream doesn't have the same chemicals as much water content as commercial ice-cream so it will begin to melt as soon as it is out of the freezer).
