Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 250 g beef rump steak or stir-fry strips
  • 1 tbsp 15ml olive oil or beef dripping
  • 200 g broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger or ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tbsp 30ml soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp 15ml apple cider vinegar (or white wine vinegar)
  • ½ tsp toasted sesame oil
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Chilli flakes to taste

Instructions

Prepare Broccoli:

  • Cut into bite-sized florets. If using fresh, blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain. If using frozen, microwave for 3 minutes and drain.

Cook Beef:

  • Slice steak into thin strips. Heat olive oil or dripping in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef, season lightly, and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.

Stir-Fry Vegetables:

  • In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds. Add broccoli and toss for 2–3 minutes.

Combine & Sauce:

  • Return beef to the pan. Add coconut aminos, vinegar, sesame oil (if using), and a pinch of chilli flakes. Stir-fry everything together for 2 minutes until well coated and heated through.

Serve Hot:

  • Divide between two plates and enjoy immediately.
